Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Kyleigh Caicedo (ky-lee / ky-say-doh). I care about the environment, politics, movies/TV, video games, books, and music. I'm vegetarian and I don't know how to cook anything, so I also care about learning how to feed myself without breaking the bank. I'm going to use this blog to talk about these things that are important to me. Please feel free to comment if you disagree, have suggestions, enjoyed what I wrote, or want to post memes. Please no trolls/hate though - if I wanted that vibe I'd go to Facebook.

I guess my name is pretty unique so I didn't have a problem with someone else having it first. 

For a little more depth:

I'm 20 (as of today), I go to the University of Florida, and am majoring in Sustainability and the Built Environment. SBE is basically architecture/construction design with an environmental science twist. I'm in UF's Innovation Academy so I'm also getting a minor in Innovation. If any future gators out there who are considering applying want me to post about IA, I will happily share my experiences as it's still a pretty new program and there isn't much out there on it yet.

I have a brother, and my parents are still married. I have a dog and a cat back home, and my current roommate has an adorable kitten that I play with nonstop. I play piano and have some original compositions. I don't read as much as I used to since I started college, but I try to squeeze in books every now and then. It used to be a coping mechanism when I hated my reality, so I don't need reading as much anymore because my life is actually pretty tolerable (college is awesome). I love video games... over the past year I've played the entire Fable series, the Dragon Age series, and am now working on the Elder Scrolls. Oblivion was such a meme, but Skyrim is pretty fun. 

I consider myself liberal, and there are few issues I agree on with conservatives. Expect posts on sexuality/gender, institutionalized racism, immigration, gun control, education, women's rights, and more. 

In high school I was in theatre for all 4 years, and I dabbled in crew and mock trial if you want to talk to me about any of those. 

I love TV shows and movies (my favorite movie is Howl's Moving Castle, which is also actually a really good book). My heinous guilty pleasure is The Bachelor franchise. I will say I like The Bachelorette much more. The men they pick to be the bachelor are always so mediocre, and I cringe through the whole show until they announce the new bachelorette. Comment below if you'd like to see a rant about this, because I have a rant prepared but idk if anyone actually wants to hear it. 

I'm from Florida, and I've been to Georgia, Texas, South and North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and France. I'm trying to study abroad in northern Spain in Fall 2018 but we'll see what goes down.

My dad is originally from Ecuador but grew up in Jersey. My mom was born and raised in Florida. My maternal great grandmother was originally from Prague, grew up in Germany, then escaped the Holocaust with her two small children - ending up in America. That's another blog post waiting to be written. 

I'll also talk about sex & relationships, and how those things play out differently in high school versus college, as well as how they are for me as a femme bi woman. 

Finally, I want this blog to be a space where I can grow and get out my thoughts. If I'm wrong about something, I'll admit it. If I change my mind about something, I will say so. I have a lot of ideas about a lot of different topics, and I have a lot of stories from my life so far that I'd like to write down, so this blog might be all over the place (just like me). If you ask questions in the comments, I'll try to respond, and if you ever request a post I'll make it a priority.
